No formal education, learnt off their families, working on land or in the home.
They needed to bring in a wage for the family

Boys - Petty schools age 4-8 - learn to read and write
Then Grammar school age 8-14 (Latin, Greek, history archery)
Girls -Dame schools or education at home by mothers, learn reading writing dancing ect

Boys - private tutor until early teens
University from 14 or 15
Some went to Inns of court to train as a lawyer
Girls - private tutoe until early teens, then sent to another nobel household to complete their education
Make useful social contacts amd perfected the skills expected of them a a nobel women
What did sport depend on
Social position
What sports did the Nobility play
Hunting, hawking fishing, fencing
What sports did the working people play
Sports like football, could be very violent with no rules
What else was very popular in Elizabethan England
Going to the theatre was very popular with all classes.
Protestantism led to the development of new plays as many thought that the centuries old plays were too carholic
