Editing Basics in ArcGIS Pro Flashcards
Editing features using ArcGIS tools can include creating a new feature, modifying an existing feature, or deleting a feature. You can edit the geometry or the attribute information for any feature type. What feature types?
points, lines, polygons, multipatch features, or annotation.
The features can come from many data sources, including an enterprise geodatabase, a file geodatabase, a shapefile, or a hosted feature layer.
3-D too, but this course covers 2-D
Features are created in ArcGIS Pro using templates. A feature template is one type of template that you can use.
The default settings that an editing template controls include what items?
The layer where the feature will be stored
The attributes that the feature will have
The default tool used to create the feature
You can override the attributes or tools specified in a feature template for editing, but not the what?
the layer
What other types of editing templates are there?
group templates and preset templates
These templates can be used to create features using more than one layer. You must create these templates manually using the Manage Templates pane.
In ArcGIS Pro, you can manage your feature templates by adding what? You can filter by them, or you can sort by preset types to improve efficiency.
searchable tags
What is the process of moving a feature to coincide with another point’s or feature’s coordinates when your pointer is within a specified distance? You can specify this distance by setting the tolerance.

Before you create a feature for a map, what should be considered with how the feature should be displayed?
The type of object and the scale at which it will be displayed will help determine the feature type that you should use.
For example, a road at small scales can be shown with a line feature, but at large scales, a polygon will also show the width of the road.
