What is anorexia?
A
Distorted body image & excessive dieting/restrictive eating that leads to severe weight loss w/ a pathologic fear of becoming fat.

Diagnostic Criteria
A
- Persistent restriction of energy intake leading to significantly low body weight.
- either intense fear of gaining weight, or behavior that interferes with weight gain.
- disturbance in the way one’s body weight or shape is experienced, negative evaluation of self-based on body shape, or cannot understand the seriousness of low body weight.
