Biome
The regions of the world with similar climate,animals,and plants
Tundra
The coldest biome. Many of the animals living here have adaptations that help them survive in -50F
Rain forest
Located close to the equator. Very humid. They have half the animals of the world. The animals and plants are very colorful.
Grassland
This biome has very few trees and shrubs. Most animals living here are herbivores.
Taiga
The largest biome. It has long, cold winters and short, mild summers.
Desert
Can be both hot and cold and has very little rainfall. About one fifth of the earth is covered by this biome
Deciduous forest
This biome has four seasons. The trees lose their leaves before the cold winter.
Environment
All the biotic and abiotic factors that surround an organism.
Adaptation
A structure or behavior that allows an organism to better survive its environment.
Species
A group or organisms that are similar; have the same general physical characteristics and niches.
Abiotic
Nonliving things.
Biotic

Niche
A role that an organism plays in its environment.
Habitat
A place where an organism lives.
Population
All the members of one species in the same area.
