A place where living and non-living things interact.
Community
Where organisms live together in an ecosystem.
Niche
The role that each organism plays in it’s community.
Biotic Factors
Living things in an ecosystem.
Abiotic Factors
Non-living things in an ecosystem.
Species
A group of living things that have similar characteristics.
Adaptations
Changes made to a species to help it get along in the environment.
Habitat
A place where animals can live.
Biome
Regions of the world with similar climate.
Deciduous Forest
This biome has four seasons. The trees lose their leaves before the cold winter.
Desert
Can be both hot and cold and has very little rainfall. About one fifth of the earth is covered by this biome.
Tundra
The coldest biome. Many of the animals living here have adaptations to help them survive in -50F.
Taiga
The largest biome. It has long, cold winters and short, mild summers.
Tropical Rainforest
Located close to the equator, it is wet and warm all year.
Grassland
This biome has very few trees and shrubs. Most animals living here are herbivores.
