An environment like an ecosystem but larger
Deciduous forest
All trees loose there leaves each year
Tundra
A place were tree growth is hindered by low temperatures and short growing seasons. The coldest biome
Tiaga
The largest biome. Also known as the snow forest. Mostly pine trees like pines and spruces.
Desert
Barren of land where little precipitation occurs and consequently living conditions are hostile for plant and animal life.
Tropical rainforest
No dry season. Tropical climate. Lowland equatorial evergreen rainforest.
Grasslands
A large open area of country covered with grass. On all continents except Antarctica.
Producer
An organism, like a plant, that is able to produce its own food from inorganic substances.
Consumer
An organism like an animal that feeds on plants or other animals.
Herbivore
An animal that feeds on plants
Carnivor
An animal that feeds on animals
Omnivore
An omnivore feeds on plants and animals
Food chains
The series of processes by which food is grown or produced
Food web
A system of inter looking and interdependent food chains
decomposer
An organism,especially a soil bacterium, that breaks down the cells of dead plants and animals.
