What is an ecosystem
A living community of plants and animals and the environment they live in.

Living elements- plants, animals and micro organisms (bacteria)
Non-living elements- sunlight, air, rocks and soil

The steps of photosynthesis are…
- Water is absorbed by the plants root and carried to the leaves
- Leaves take in carbon dioxide (CO2) and release oxygen back into the atmosphere
- The sun’s energy turns the CO2 and water (H2O) into glucose
4.Glucose combines with minerals in the soil to make plants grow, these minerals are called nutrients.

Eats other animals
What is an Omnivore?
Eats both plants and animals
What is a decomposer?
Fungi and bacteria in the soil feed on dead animals, droppings and other waste material, the make things rot, they are recyclers.
What is the start of the food chain?
A food chain always starts with a plant that has trapped the energy of the sun and is passed along the chain, this makes the plant the start
What is a food chain?
A chain of plants and animals, usually in this order,
Producer -> Herbivore -> Carnivore -> Omnivore
What is a producer?
Creates its own food, always at the start of the food chain.
