a community of living organisms interacting with there environment in specific areas

Organism

Habitat
natural environment of an organism

naturally occuring factors from living organisms, living organisms
Abiotic
non-living components of an ecosystem that influences the environment
Limiting Resource
a resource limited in supply and restricts the growth of a population
Competition
organisms competing over resources in limited supply
Competitive exclusion
two species cannot occupy the same niche, different species cannot coexist if they are competing over limited resources
Resource partitioning
when different organisms within one ecosystem split up an area so that they will not compete for the same resources
Predator
organisms that hunt or kill others to survive
Prey
animals killed by other animals for food
Eco Niche
a role a species or group plays in it’s environment
Carnivore
Meat eater
Herbivore
veggie eater
Coevolution
two or more species evolving in response to eachother
Symbiosis
close association between two or more different organisms
