Income
Wirral has a large number of wards which receive different incomes. The largest income is Pensby which has £70,391 and the least is Bidston with £16,699. New Brighton has an average income of £32,797 - just below the Wirral average.
House prices
Average house prices in Wirral have gone up over 34% compared to five years ago. The peninsula’s property market has been enjoying a boom and the increase, according to data from Xendpay, is the biggest across Merseyside. They compared the average price of a house in February 2016 to February 2021, across more than 400 areas of the UK. They found that the average house price in Wirral in February 2016 was £143,851, but in the most recently available figures for February 2021 it stood at £193,318 – an increase of 34.39%.

Businesses
New Brighton - New Brighton is clearly separated into 2 sections, the main section which encases main brand chain restaurants and Victoria Street which is predominantly independent stores.
Victoria Road - According to Rock point leisure (2020) this project aimed to promote the area’s independent credentials as a viable alternative to the seafront offer. Where tourists and locals can eat, drink and socialise. Shops include restaurantes including The Olive Tree, The Sea Shanty and the smugglers cafe.
Businesses on the seafront - Businesses here focus on the amusement and tourist sector, including the fairground, adventureland, Floral pavilion and the arcade.
What’s more New Brighton can also begin to be classed as a clone town with the inclusion of main chain restaurants and shops including home bargains, iceland, morrisons, starbucks, costa, prezzo, ellas kitchen, marino lounge, hungry horse and a travelodge. Aimed at tourists, these businesses provide an exogenously shaped area.
