An eclipse that happens when light from the sun is blocked by the moon, and the moon’s shadow falls on Earth.
What is a Lunar Eclipse?
An eclipse that happens when the moon passes through Earth’s shadow.
What is the Umbra?
The darker part of a shadow.
What is the Penumbra?
the lighter part of the shadow, surrounding the Umbra.
What Lunar phase is required for a Solar eclipse to happen?
A New Moon.
What Lunar phase is required in order for a Lunar Eclipse to happen?
A Full Moon.
