ECG Flashcards
Which leads tell you the cardiac axis?
I and aVF
What findings suggest normal cardiac axis?
I and aVF positive
What findings suggest left axis deviation?
I positive, aVF negative
What findings suggest right axis deviation?
aVF positive, I negative
Give causes of right axis deviation.
RVH, Acute Rh strain (eg PE), COPD/pulm HTN, hyperkalaemia
Give causes of left axis deviation.
LVH, LBBB, inferior MI
Which coronary artery is most likely affected in a lateral MI?
LCA
Which coronary artery is most likely affected in an anterior/septal MI?
LAD
Which coronary artery is most likely affected in an inferiorl MI?
RCA or left circumflex
Give ECG findings suggestive of myocardial ischaemia.
TWI
ST elevation/depression
Pathological Q eaves
New LBBB
When are T waves considered inverted?
TWI at least 1mm deep in 2 or more continuous leads
When is ST depression considered significant?
> 2mm
When is ST elevation considered significant?
1mm in limb lead or 2mm in precordial lead
Which ECG findings are suggestive of LBBB?
W in V1, M in V6
Which ECG findings are suggestive of RBBB?
M in V1, W in V6
Give causes of LBBB
Aortic stenosis, MI, Digoxin, HyperK
Give causes of RBBB
RVH, PE, IHD, congenital
What is a normal PR interval?
