Withdrawal
Excitement goes away
Feeling out of place
Finds things weird and confusing (don’t understand traditions and manners)
Some people leave by this stage because they can’t handle it

Adjustment
They start to navigate their new life

Focusing only on the holidays of one cultural group can marginalize children who don’t share the same culture
It can give children a false message that only those that are celebrated are considered “normal” and therefore right for everyone
