What are core psychopathological features of eating disorders?
Fear of fatness, pursuit of thinness, body dissatisfaction, body image distortion, self-evaluation based on weight and shape
What is the DSM-5 criteria for anorexia nervosa?
BMI < 18.5 and core psychopathology
What is the DSM-5 criteria for bulimia nervosa?
BMI > 18.5, core psychopathology and regular binge/purge at least once a week
What is the name of the questionnaire used as a screening tool in eating disorders and what score indicates presence of a possible eating disorder?
SCOFF questionnaire.
Score 2+ indicates possible ED.
What psychological treatments are there for anorexia nervosa?
Maudsley Approachto to Treating Anorexia nervosa (MANTRA), CBT, SSCM (specialist supportive clinical management).
No medication licensed to treat AN.
What psychological treatments are there for bulimia nervosa?
CBT, IPT.
Fluoxetine 60mg od (this is the only lincensed drug and dose for BN only)
