What’s the difference between Bipolar Affective Disorder type 1 and type 2?

A

Type 1: full mania with presence of psychotic symptoms
Type 2: Patients do not meet the criteria for full mania and are instead described as hypomanic (milder elevation of mood). No psychotic symptoms.
