What was the major event which led to Britain government establishing control over East India Company?
A
There was a Bengal famine in 1770 and with time East India Company was also suffering losses. In order to overcome the famine, they asked for loan from British government of around £1 million in year 1772. This was one of the major reasons by disappointment, saw this as the opportunity to control East India company.
