- They come from central or Eastern Europe
- They were warriors and technically advance = they could make weapons.
- Celtic languages: they are the ancestors of many people in Britain today.
- Different tribes and different waves -> There wasn’t a big invasion = they arrive separately, there were different waves of Celtics
- Successful farmers
- Two main trad centers: the settlement along the Thames River in the south and the one on the Firth of Forth in the north.
- The Celtic trade centers correspond to the capitals cities today.
Why and when did the Romans invade Britain?
-They invaded Britain in 43 AD
Reasons:
-The Celts in Britain were friends with the celts of France who were the enemies of the Romans
-Celts were successful farmers = Britain were an important food producer and the Romans needed food for their army
-They wanted to expand their empire (their divine mission is to expand)
