Duty to report work related incidents leading to…
Fatalities
Certain serious injuries (reportable injuries)

Responsible person (employer or person in charge of premises)
Any death (of workers or non workers) as a result of work related accident

If an employee dies within one year as a result of a reported injury…
The employer is required to report this as soon as it comes to his or her knowledge
Specified Injuries (reg 4)
Hypothermia or heat induced illness
Requiring resuscitation or admittance to hospital for more than 24hrs
Fracture
Amputation
Permanent loss of sight or reduction of sight
Crush injury leading to internal organ damage
Serious burns (over 10% of body)
Unconsciousness caused by asphyxia

Reporting specified injuries

Over 7 day injuries
An injury where a person is incapacitated for work, which might be reasonably expected to do
Does not include day of injury but does include non working days
