Harassment is:
Abusive, obscene or threatening, intended to bully, shame,injure or instill fear
Sexual harassment:
Any unwanted sexual advance, request for sexual favors, or pressure that interferes with work performance, is a condition or implied condition of employment, or a basis for employment decisions
Assault
Person intentionally or knowingly causes physical contact
Sexual assault
Member is forced, coerced, threatened
Hazing
Practice of rituals and other activities that potentially involve harassment, or abuse as a way of initiating a person into a group
All of the forms of harassment: harassment, sexual harassment, assault, sexual assault, or hazing cannot take place:
Off duty
What if you witness any form of harassment?
You have to report it to your supervisor unless they are the harasser.
Chain of reporting for harassment if you can’t report it to Supervisor:
Any other Supervisor PSO Fire Chief FDHR HR
How many days does the chief have to take action on a harassment violation?
180 days
Who investigates a case of Sexual Harassment?
HRD with PSO participating as well
