DVLA - 1st seizure:
1) normal imaging and EEG
2) abnormal imaging or EEG
1) 6months
2) 12 months
Both inform DVLA
DVLA - epilepsy
1) How long seizure free before driving?
2) How long seizure free before normal license?
3) Withdrawal of meds?
1) 12 months
2) 5 years
3) While withdrawing and 6 months afterwards
DVLA - syncope
1) Simple faint
2) Single explained and treated
3) Single unexplained
4) 2+ episodes
1) Nil
2) 4 weeks
3) 6 months
4) 12 months
DVLA - stroke/TIA
1) Single
2) Multiple
1) 1 month off
2) 3 months and inform DVLA
DLVA - narcolepsy/cataplexy
Can drive when symptoms controlled
DVLA - hypertension
Can drive and no need to inform DVLA unless significant side effects
No T2 license if BP >180/100
DVLA - elective angioplasty (PCI)
1 week
DVLA - CABG
4 weeks
DVLA - ACS
1 week if successful PCI
4 weeks if not
DVLA - PPM insertion
1 week
DVLA - angina
no driving if symptoms at the wheel
DVLA - ICD insertion
1) For ventricular arrthymia
2) For prophylaxis
1) 6 months
2) 1 month
DVLA - successful catheter ablation for arrthymia
2 days
DVLA - AAA
> 6cm - notify DVLA
> 6.5cm - no driving
DVLA - heart transplant
6 weeks
