A
Digital Selective Calling.
System that sends digitally encoded messages at high speed on VHF, MF and HF.

A
Transmits 5 separate Identical alerts
Which repeat every 3.5 to 4.5 minutes until its acknowledged.

What are the VHF and MF/HF DSC message intervals?
A
VHF 0.6 seconds
MF/HF 7.2 seconds

How are DSC USR alerts sent?
A
Transmits 5 alerts that do not repeat.
Acknowledgement only required if sent to a specific station.
If sent to all stations should be responded to using a suitable radio frequency.
