agranulocytosis in the neonate
(should also stop in breastfeeding as in very high levels in milk)

GDM

Risperidone, amisulpride and sulpride
What are the fetal and neonatal risks associated with benzos?
fetal- cleft lip
neonatal- floppy baby syndrome
Which is the lowest risk antidepressant in pregnancy?
Fluoxetine (but very high doses in breastmilk)
Which antidepressant is at highest risk of congenital heart defects/ anomalies?
Paroxetine
What are the risks with venlafaxine?
Inc risks of toxicity, more difficult in withdrawal and associated with high blood pressure
If SSRIs are taken >20/40 what is the risk in baby?
Inc risk of persistent pulmonary hypertension
Intrapartum, what do SSRI/SNRI inc the risk of?
Very small inc in the risk of PPH
What is sodium valproate associated with?
Significant associations with neural tube defects- should not be prescribed to women of child bearing age
What is the main risk associated with lithium?
Congenital heart defects (60/1000 from baseline of 8/1000)
Most specifically, ebsteins anomaly (tricuspid valve defect)
Over what time period should you stop lithium over?
A period of 4 weeks
In pregnancy, how often should lithium levels be checked?
Every 4 weeks
Weekly from 36 weeks
Within 24hrs post delivery
What is the risk associated with carbamazepine?
Inc risk of neural tube defects from 6/10,000 to 50/10,000
What does lamotrigine carry the risk of?
Cleft palate
