Oral form used to treat pseudomembranous colitis

Used in pencillin alergic patients
CAUSES pseudomembranous colitis (stop drug and put on metronidazole or vancomycin)
Vancomycin
Oral –> Used for PSEUDOMEMBRANOUS COLITIS
Parenteral –> all gram POSITIVE (MRSA, MRSE and enterocci)
Can cause red man syndrome
Rifampin
Used for TB

ciprofloxacin
used for severe gram negative infections, osteomyelitis, pseudomonas or diabetic infections
Erythromycin
Can give to PCN allergic patients
Tetracycline
Drug of choice for borrelia burgdorferi (lyme disease)

no dose adjustment for renal imapirement
covers MRSA, MRSE and VRE
