What is the presentation of Propofol?
A
Highly lipid soluble/poorly water soluble white emulsion

Propofol dose (+maintenance plasma concentration for GA)?
A
1-2.5mg/kg. 5mcg/ml.

Propofol mechanism of action?
A
Positive allosteric modulator of the GABAa and glycine receptors. Inhibits nicotonic ACh receptor + 5-HT3 receptor.

Propofol metabolism?
A
Hepatic (extraction ratio 0.8-0.9)

Propofol excretion + half lives?
A
Renal excretion. Elimation half life is 8 hours, distribution is 2-8 minutes. Context sensitive at 8 hours is 40 minutes

A
Mu-receptor full agonist

A
5 mins. Urinary excretion (no renal/hepatic concerns)
