Sumatriptan Side effects and contraindications

Triptans are contraindicated in cardiovascular disease (they can cause coronary vasospasm)
Side effects: Nausea, vomiting, Hot flushes, Drowsiness

5HT1f agonist.
Inhibits trigeminal neuronal activity
Inhibiting the firing of trigeminal nerves
(5HT1f receptors are found in nerve terminals of C-fibres)
