PHOTOTOXICITY DRUGS
Piroxicam
• Patients should wash hands immediately after use
• Photosensitivity- avoid excessive exposure to sun
Chlorpromazine
• Risk of contact sensitisation- avoid direct contact. Tablets should not be crushed, solutions should be handled with care
• Photosensitisation- Avoid direct sunlight
Clozapine- photosensitisation
Doxycycline
• Photosensitivity
Amiodarone
• Avoid direct sunlight. Apply wide spectrum UV cream
