Amiodarone (AMO)
Contra-indications
None in context of cardiac arrest.
Aspirin (ASP)
Contra-indications
- Known allergy or sensitivity.
- Children under 16 yrs.
- Active GI bleed.
- Haemophilia or other known clotting disorders.
- Severe hepatic disease.
Atropine (ATR)
Contra-indications
Should not be given to treat bradycardia in suspected hypothermic patients.
Benzylpenicillin (BPN)
Contra-indications
Known severe penicillin allergy (more than just a simple rash).
Chlorphenamine (CPH)
Contra-indications
- Known hypersensitivity.
- Children
Clopidogrel (CLO)
Contra-indications
- Known allergy or sensitivity.
- Severe liver impairment.
- Active pathological bleeding (e.g. Peptic ulcer or intracranial haemorrhage).
- Breastfeeding.
Dexamethasone (DEX)
Contra-indications
- Previously diagnosed hypertension.
- Systemic infection/sepsis.
Diazepam (DZP)
Contra-indications
None
Entonox (NOO)
Contra-indications
- Severe head injuries with impaired consciousness.
- Decompression sickness (the bends).
- Violently disturbed psychiatric patients.
Furosemide (FRM)
Contra-indications
- Pre-comatose state secondary to liver cirrhosis.
- ## Severe renal failure with anuria.
Glucagon (GLU)
Contra-indications
- Low glycogen stores.
- Hypoglycaemic seizures.
Glucose 10% (GLX)
Contra-indications
None
Glucose 40% Oral Gel (GLG)

- Hypotension (
Heparin (HEP)
Contra-indications
- Haemophilia and other haemorrhagic disorders.
- Thrombocytopenia.
- Recent cerebral haemorrhage.
- Severe hypertension.
- Severe liver disease.
- Oesophageal varices.
- Peptic ulcer.
- Major trauma.
- Recent surgery to eye or nervous system.
- Acute bacterial endocarditis.
- Spinal or epidural anaesthesia.
