The formula for dosing medication in MCG/MIN?
dose in mcg/min X 60 min/hr / medication concentration in mcg/ml = cc/hr
The formula for dosing MCG/KG/MIN
dose in mcg/min X 60 min/hr X weight in KG / med concentration in mcg/cc = cc/hr
Estimating kilos from pounds
Take half the pounds, then subtract 10% of that number
ex. 220 pounds /2 = 110 , 10% of 110 is 11, 110-11= 99kg
APLS formula for weight in a child less than 12 months?
(age in months + 9) / 2 = kg
APLS formula for weight in children 1-5 years old
(age in years + 5) x 2 = kg
APLS formula for weight in children 5-14 years old
4 x age in years = kg
