A
- primary survey (when casualty is unconscious or not breathing normally)
- priroty assessment

A
- remove any danger from yourself, others followed by the casualty

A
- check for a response from the casualty
- this will determine if the casualty is conscious or not
- use COWS

send for help
A
- dial 000 or the appropriate number
- if there’s a bystander, ask them to call instead of you

airway
A
- check their airway is clear
- roll casualty into recovery position if airway is blocked by a liquid
- otherwise, tilt head backwards using the pistol grip

breathing

- check to see their breathing: look, hear and feel
- if casualty is breathing, roll into recovery position
- if not, roll onto their back and give 2 initial breaths

- 30 compressions followed by 2 breaths
- this changes depending on the person
- if infant, give 2 light puffs of air, if child, give 2 half breaths and if adult, if 2 full breaths
- if infant, use 2 fingers, if child, use one hand, if adult use 2 hands

- if defib is avaliable, dismount it and follow the instructions
