A

What is desertification?

A

which is when good farming land turns to desert. This happens when crops and natural vegetation because of drought. The topsoil is blown or washed away and plants can never grow in that area again, then a desert forms.

What happened to Sudan two weeks ago?

A

After decades of drought last week Sudan was struck by floods. The few crops that they had managed to grow were destroyed as were their homes. 1000’s of people were left homeless and there were fears of outbreaks of Cholera.
