When can you overtake on the left?
When you want to go straight and driver in front of you has moved out and signalled that they intend to turn right
When do you have signalled that you intend to turn left
When traffic is moving slowly - traffic in left hand is moving more than right hand traffic
What is meant by a solid white line in the centre of the road?
You must stay left and not cross the line unless access or in emergency
Sign for “I am slowing down or stop”
Outside window and fan up and down
Sign: I am turn right or moving out
Hand outside window - straight out
Sign: “I am turning left”
Hand outside window - turn hand anti-clockwise
Sign: “I am going straight ahead”
Hand in car - lifted up
What does a broken yellow line mean?
Road contains hard shoulder which normally used for pedestrians and cyclists - but may be used for overtake if safe to do so
What does double broken white lines along the centre of the road mean?
Alert the driver to short distance ahead - must not cross them unless safe to do so
At a stop sign that has no white line, where should you stop?
You must stop at the sign
Where there is a continuous and a broken white line along the centre of the road, which one do you obey?
You must obey the line that is nearest you
Who has priority at a roundabout?
You must give of way too traffic already on a roundabout
What restrictions are there in relation to the use of the horn?
Don’t use horn in a built up area between 11.30pm-7am, unless traffic emergency

45cm
