When can you overtake on the left?
When driver in front is turning right, when you intend to turn left, when vehicles in lane on your right are moving slower

How would you turn right on a main road?
Mirror and signal and then move into right hand lane when clear, keeping left of the white line in the centre of the road. When a safe gaps occurs, complete your turn, never cut your corner and give way to pedestrians
How would you know a zebra crossing at night?
By yellow flashing beacons
What does the island in the centre of a pedestrian crossing mean?
Each side of the island is a separate crossing
What restrictions are there in relation to the use of the horn?
Not used between 11.30pm and 7am in a built up area except in emergency
When driving at night when should you sip your headlights?
When meeting oncoming traffic- when following behind a vehicle- on continuously lit right - in fog snow dusk/dawn
What should you do if dazzled by lights of an oncoming lights?
Slow down and stop if necessary

What is the two second rule?
Stay two seconds behind car in front - use a stationary object on the road, start counting when car in front passes the object and you should pass after counting two secs
If you saw a red triangle on road what would it mean?
That there is an obstruction on the road
What is the sequence of traffic lights?
Green amber red
At a junction when traffic lights are not working to whom to you give way?
Traffic of the right
What does a a green light mean?
Go provided junction is clear
What does an amber light mean?
Stop unless you are too close to stop safely

Move the car with the handbrake on
What things to do need to keep clean?
Windows, mirrors, lights (front&back), number plate (front&back)
How do you know the air pressure in the tyre?
Check the manual or sticker on the door
How do you fill the air pressure in the tyre?
Go to garage and get an air pump
What are the three checks on tyres?
- thread depth - air pressure - any other damage
How do you check your thread depth?
Run your finger inside and find the little bump- little bump that wears down (time to change)
What should your reaction be when skidding on icy roads?
Turn wheel with the skid
What does flashing amber light mean?
Proceed with caution
What does a continuous white line?
Avoid obstruction - turning right - in emergencies
Why not have full headlights in fog/snow?
Glare back onto you
What would you change when driving into a tunnel?
Remove sunglasses, reduce speed, dip headlights
