What five things should you be cautious of in wet weather?
- Keep well back from the car in-front
- Unresponsive steering: ease of the accelerator and gradually slow down
- The rain and spray from vehicles can make it difficult to see
- Be aware of spilt diesel which can make the road slippy
- Take extra care around Horses, pedestrians, motorcycles and cyclists
What must you check before setting off in icy snow and weather?
- You must be able to see (clear all snow and ice)
- All lights must be clean and license plates clear and legible
- Remove all snow that may fall off
- Check all routes will be clear and no further snowfall
What six things must you consider when driving in icy or snowy weather?
- Drive with care, even on treated roads
- Keep well back from the driver in-front as stopping distances can be ten times greater
- Take care when over taking vehicles treating the road
- Watch out for snowploughs, do not use a lane if it has not been cleared

- Do not accelerate to get away from drivers being close
- Check mirrors before slowing down and break gently
- Stop in the correct position at a junction and pull out positively and confidently
In hot weather you should?
- Keep the car well ventilated (stops drowsiness)
- Be aware the road may be soft or become slippery if it is rained on after a dry spell
