Drives Flashcards
What is the main rotor and tail rotor RPM at 101%?
main rotor= 289
tail rotor= 1403
If its cold out side should I worry about the NGB popping the bypass indicator?
No, its has a thermal lock out to prevent pop-up when the oil is cooler that 29.5 degrees C
When does the NGB thermal lock out protection disengage?
When NGB or temperature is between 46-67 degrees C
On pre flight what must the NGB oil be in the sight glass?
Half way
If the NGB pop-up is out what does that mean?
That the NGB oil filter may need servicing and that its has an impending bypass. likely reset and check on post flight. If popped again make an entry on the -13.
If all the oil leaked out of an NGB how long can I expect it to operate?
approximately 30 minutes due the felt wicking.
How many complete oil systems does the transmission have?
2
What happened if too much oil leaks out of one of the transmission of systems?
An electric diverter valve in the sump of the low side will close to conserve remaining oil.
Is the chip detectors in the NGB fuzz burning?
Yes, they will burn minor fuzz
Is the Chip detector in the Transmission fuzz burning?
No
Will the transmission oil diverter valves still work if both generators fail?
Yes, the valves are on the 28v Emergency battery BUS
How many oil pumps are in the Transmission?
3, 2x main pumps and accessory gear box has it’s own that pulls from sump 2 for APU operations
How long does felt wicking lubricate the transmission?
30 minutes
how many thermistors are located on the IGB and TRGB?
4, each and they feed information the DMS and are part of the MSPU
How many drive shafts are there?
7
