Q

What is your ABA briefing for land evac?

A

Are you willing and able to assist in this emergency?

When the aircraft comes to a complete stop and you hear the cabin crew yell ‘evacuate evacuate’

Go to this exit.

If I operate this exit wait until you hear me yell ‘come thins way, jump and slide’ before sliding down the slide and assisting passengers to move away from the aircraft.

If I am unable to operate this exit. You will need to unfasten my seatbelt and relocate me to this row.
You can ask for assistance from others to do this.

You will need to check outside conditions for fire, smoke or any obstructions. If the exit is blocked, redirect passengers.

If the conditions are clear, hold onto the assist handle and lift this handle upwards.

The exit will open and the slide will inflate. If the slide does not inflate, pull the red manual inflation handle.

Wait for the slide to inflate before telling passengers to ‘come this way, jump and slide’

Ask the first passenger to assist at the bottom.

A

Go to this exit.

If I operate this exit wait until you hear me yell ‘come this way, jump and pull’.
Inflate your jacket as you jump into the water.

If I am unable to operate this exit. You will need to unfasten my seatbelt and Relocate me to this row. You may ask for assistance from others to do this.

You will need to check outside conditions for fire, smoke, high water levels or any obstructions. If the exit is blocked, redirect passengers to the nearest useable exit.

If the conditions are clear, you will need to hold onto this handle and lift this handle upwards.

The exit will open and the slide will automatically inflate, if the slide does not inflate, pull the red manual inflation handle.

Wait for the slide to inflate.

You will then need to disconnect the slide by pulling back the flap and pulling the release handle.

Wait for the slide to disconnect before telling passengers to ‘ come this way, jump and pull’

Ask the first passenger to assist by directing others away from the aircraft.

A

Are you willing and able to assist in this emergency?

When the aircraft comes to a complete stop and the crew command ‘evacuate evacuate’

You will need to check outside conditions for fire, smoke, high water levels or any obstructions.

If the exit is blocked redirect pac to the nearest useable exit.

If the conditions are clear, you will need to remove the cover pull down the handle, turn the exit inwards abd on its side. Throw the exit outside.

You will then need to step through the opening onto the wing and direct passengers to move well away from the aircraft.

The exit weighs 17.5kg and there is more information in your blue exit safety card.
