Drawing Techniques Flashcards
What is 2D and 3D sketching?
2D is better for plan views and for expressing size
3D is better for conveying the overall shape of a design
Freehand sketch
What is perspective drawing?
Perspective drawings show an object in 3D getting smaller in the distance
What is a single-point perspective and two-point perspective drawing?
Single-point perspective is often used by interior designers to show a room
Two-point perspective shows an object from the side with two vanishing points
What is a isometric drawing?
Used to show a graphical representation of a 3D object
It’s a good way of showing measurements and how components fit together
Isometric drawings show horizontal edges at 30 degrees at an angle
What is a system diagram?
It’s used in electronics
This is because as each stage has to perform a specific function before moving on to the next step
What is a schematic diagram?
Schematic diagram use symbols to show the layout of an electrical or mechanical system
What is a exploded diagram?
Shows how a product can be assembled and how the separate parts fit together and shows a particular of a diagram in a larger scale
What is a orthographic drawing?
Working drawings in either first or third angle projections and show each side of a design without perspective
What is a scale drawing?
An enlarged or reduced drawing that is proportional to the original object
