12 differences b/w primary and permanent teeth
A
For primary teeth:
- small in all demensions
- crowns are wider in the MD compared with crown length
- narrower and longer roots
- facial and lingual cervical 1/3 of the crowns of anterior teeth more prominent
- more constricted at DEJ
- occlusal surface is more narrow F-L than cervical width
- molar roots longer and slender than permanent molars
- molar roots flar out from the cervical area, and more at the apex
- enamel is thinner (1mm) and more consistent depth
- less thick dentin b/w pulp chamber and enamel
- larger pulp chamber
- pulp horns, especiall mesal horns are higher in molars than permanent molars

- mineral trioxide aggregate(MTA) pulpotomy
- Electrosurgical Pulpotomy

Signs of a failed formocresol pulpotomy
A
usually detected on radiographs:
- first sign: internal resorption of the root adjacent to the area
- followed by external resorption in furcation areas
- anterior teeth-radiolucent area may develop at the apices or lateral to roots
- More destruction-more mobile
- sinus tracts usually develop
- pain is rare
- cystic lesions in primary molars
- most diagnosed as furcation cysts
