DQ47 Flashcards
What is the treatment for spatial desorientation?
- Reference instruments with a good cross-check
- Ignore conflicting sensory inputs
- Announce spatial desorientation and transfer the controls
To recover from an unusual attitude the proper sequence of flight control adjustments is?
Attitude - Level wings and pitch attitude while maintaining the aircraft in trim.
Heading - Establish and maintain appropriate heading.
Torque - Adjust torque to cruise or climb power setting.
Airspeed - Maintain the desired airspeed.
Altitude - Return to the appropriate/desired altitude after establishing aircraft control.
Concerning climbing and descending turns:
The maneuver will be conducted as a 60 second (one minute) excercise during which the altitude is changed ____ft and the heading is changed ___degrees while maintaining the airspeed at __KIAS.
When performed correctly, there will be a __degree heading change and a ___ft altitude change every 15 seconds. So halfway through the maneuver (30 seconds) there should be a __degree heading change and a ___ft altitude change.
Concerning climbing and descending turns:
The maneuver will be conducted as a 60 second (one minute) excercise during which the altitude is changed 500 ft and the heading is changed 180 degrees while maintaining the airspeed at 90 KIAS.
When performed correctly, there will be a 45 degree heading change and a 125 ft altitude change every 15 seconds. So halfway through the maneuver (30 seconds) there should be a 90 degree heading change and a 250 ft altitude change.
Concerning accelleration/decelleration:
This maneuver will consist of an accelleration to a stabilized ___kts, followed by a deceleration to a stabilized __kts, and conclude with re-acceleration to the starting airspeed of __kts.
Concerning accelleration/decelleration:
This maneuver will consist of an accelleration to a stabilized 100 kts, followed by a deceleration to a stabilized 65 kts, and conclude with re-acceleration to the starting airspeed of 90 kts.
