what is mental wellbeing?
psychological state of someone who is functioning at a satisfactory level of emotional and behavioural adjustment.
when does poor mental wellbeing occur?
occurs in response to stressors or environmental change
what does a general practitioner do in relation to mental health?
- first person to go to
- records behavioural symptoms
- refers a patient
- investigates environmental factors
what does a mental health worker do in relation to mental health?
- deal with substance abuse, poverty
- works in hospitals, clinics
- assessment of conditions, medication

what does a psychologist do in relation to mental wellbeing?

- cannot prescribe meds ( no med degree)
- assess, diagnose, support

what does a psychiatrist doe in relation to mental wellbeing?
- develop treatment and support patient
- prescribe meds and admit to hospital
- needs a referral
