  • Invigorates blood, dispels stasis (wine treated, added at beginning)

  • Clears heat, drains fire/reduces swellings - lacerated mouth or throat, skin lesions, eye problems
  • Moistens dryness, sotfens hardness - w/ Da Huang for constipation from dryness
