Doctrine of Immutability of Judgment Flashcards
1
Q
What is the doctrine of immutability of judgment?
A
Under the doctrine of immutability of judgment, a judgment that has attained finality can no longer be disturbed. The reason is two-fold:
(1) To avoid delay in the administration of justice, and to make orderly the discharge of judicial business; and
(2) To put an end to judicial controversies at the expense of occasional errors.
