• Klienten → en dator som behöver information

• A → namn → IP. - Vanligaste typen.
• CNAME → Kallas också Alias. namn → namn
• MX → namn -> IP. Specifikt för inkommande mail till domän.
• namn → IP
• SOA → Start of Authority
  • NS → namn -> IP. Specifikt för IP till ansvarig DNS-server för domänen.

→ Receive queries, finds the info requested and delivers the answer
→ Normally NOT reachable from internet
