DNA TO PROTEIN- TRANSCRIPTION Flashcards
Inborn error of metabolism?
Inborn error of missing enzymes which then cause metabolism issues
Central DOgma is what?
the flow of information in the DNA goes to RNA and that is used to make protein
Transcription
Taking DNA and turning it into RNA is called this(AUGC)
Translation
uses the RNA copy to assemble amino acids into a polypeptide
In prokaryotes:
DNA—> transcription—> mRNA»». Translation»» polypeptide from ribosome
All occurs in cytosome so therefore before transcription ends translation begins in prokaryotes.
In eurkaruotes translation and transcription are decoupled because they are. In diffrent compartments—- transcription in nucleus and translation in cytosome
RNA to rember
mRNA —- decoded by ribosome to create amino acids
rRNA
Ribosomal RNA- RNA inside ribosomes
TRNA
TRANSFER RNA BRINGS IN THE AMINO ACIDS INTO THE RIBOSOMES
