gene mutation produces single gene while chromosomal mutations produces change in a whole chromosomes

chromatin is standard form of packaged DNA in the cell while The chromatin consists of the unraveled condensed structure of DNA, whereas the chromosome consists of the highest condensed structure of the DNA double-helix.
