Q

What is the function of DNA

A

DNA contains the instructions needed for an organism to develop, survive and reproduce. To carry out these functions DNA sequences must be converted into messages that can be used to produce proteins, which are the complex molecules that do most of the work in our bodies.

Q

Describe the complementary base pairing?

A

There are 4 bases that make up the genetic information: Adenine, thymine, cytosine, guanine. These bases match with one and other: A pairs with T and C pairs with G. The order of bases determines the order of amino acids and the order of amino acids determines the function and structure of protein
