DNA Flashcards
1
Q
How do the nitrogenous bases pair up?
A
- The sugar and phosphate groups make the backbone of the DNA molecules.
-The nitrogenous bases join the two DNA strands together. There
are four different nitrogenous bases in DNA:
A – adenine
T – thymine
C – cytosine
G – guanine
1
Q
What are the three parts that make up a nucleotide?
A
- A nitrogenous base
- A sugar (deoxyribose)
- A phosphate
2
Q
Determine the complementary strand of a DNA sequence.
A
- A = T
- G = C
