A
a fasting blood sugar of 5, or 1 hour post-prandial sugar of 6.7. Should give folic acid to prevent neural tube defects, 1 mg > 0.4 mg for non-diabetic pregnant women. A1c less than 7%, 6% during preg.

A
50g OGTT, 1h post glucose
- 3: GDM
- 8-10.2: do 75g OGTT: measure fasting, 1hr, 2hr post

Complications
A
maternal complications: preeclampsia, polyhydramino,, preterm labor; fetal complications: macrosomia, intrauterine death, ards, cardiomyopathy, polycythemia
