What 3 things do you need for DKA diagnosis
A
Cap blood glucose over 11 mmol/L
Cap ketones over 3mmol/L/urine ketones 2+ or more
Venous pH less than 7.3 and/or bicarb less than 15

A
Cannula
Taking bloods including. venous blood glucose, U and E, blood cultures (infection can precipitate DKA), U and E
Give fluids and fixed rate IV insulin infusion 0.1 unit/kg/hour
Catheterise and measure urine output
Take urine sample for urinary ketones and glucose and MSU
ECG, CXR
