Q

Role of the PNS and what it’s divided into?

A

o Autonomic nervous system - transmits info to and from internal bodily organs, it is autonomic (involuntary), divided into sympathetic and parasympathetic
o Somatic nervous system - transmits info from receptor cells in sense organs to the CNS and receives info from CNS for muscles to act (voluntary)
o Transmits messages via neurones to and from the central nervous system
