Diving Disorders Flashcards
Hypoxia Causes
- Low pp of o2 in breathing gas supply
- Blockage of fresh air
- Blockage of air passages
- Collapse of lung due to pneumothorax
- Paralysis of respiration muscles from spinal cord injury
Hypoxia Systems
C - Cyanosis
I - Increased pule and B/P
L - Lack of concentration
L - Lack of mucle control
I - Inability to preform difficult task
W - Weakness
L - Los of consciousness
D - Drowsiness
Hypercapnia Causes
- Excess co2 levels due to improper placement of compressor inlet
- Inadequate ventilation of surface-supplied helmets
- Inadequate lung ventilation in realtions to exercise level (skip breathing)
Hypercapnia Systems

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Causes
- Compressor’s intake too close to exhaust
- Manfuntion of a oil lubricated compressor
