WHAT IS THE TUCKMAN THEORY?
Focuses on how a team approaches a task, split across 5 phases:
Forming - Assembly of team, planning and collating information
Storming - Address task by suggesting ideas, strong facilitative role required for efficiency
Norming - Agreeing rules and values across the team
Performing - Collaborative decision making, however independent practices driven by motivation, knowledge and competence.
Adjourning - End of the project, team disbands until the next task.
WHAT IS THE HERZBERG THEORY?
Two factor motivational theory based on motivational factors:
- Workers are encouraged to work faster based on motivational factors such as empowerment, job enrichment and job enlargement.
- Workers can become de-motivated if motivational factors are not met, i.e. remuneration, annual leave entitlement or comfortable working conditions.
WHAT IS WORKPLACE DIVERSITY?
Diversity in the workplace related to acceptance and inclusion of employees of all backgrounds.

Positive reputation - Diverse workplaces are often perceived as better employers, potential employees want an employer who is accepting and tolerable to all background.
WHAT ARE INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENTS?
A culturally inclusive environment requires mutual respect, effective relationships, clear communication, understanding of expectations and critical self-reflection.

WHY ARE INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENTS IMPORTANT?

Companies with inclusive talent practices in hiring, promoting, development, leadership and team management generate up to 303% higher revenue per employee and greater profitability than their competitors.
WHAT LEGISLATION OR REGULATIONS RELATE TO INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENTS?
Main legislation within the UK applying to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion are:

PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF INCLUSION WITHIN THE WORKPLACE?
Inclusion in the workplace is creating an environment and culture where all employees feel like they belond in the organisation.
This results in every employee feeling comfortable with voicing their opinion and no person feels excluded on the basis of their identity.
WHAT IS MEANT BY THE TERM UNCONSCOIUS BIAS?
Unconscious bias relates to the assumptions someone may have about someone solely related to their race, gender or disability.
These judgements are often made without conscious awareness, which contributes to a lack of workplace diversity.
